Advocacy and Action: Meeting with our U.S. Representatives and Senators to support debt cancellation legislation. Jubilee Act. Haiti Resolution. Liberia. Endorse related initiatives. Participate in rallies, protests, marches, human chains, debt funerals and more! Contact Bob at Rebrown47@gmail.com.
Congregational Outreach: Recruiting Portland area Congregations to become Jubilee Congregations. Jubilee as the theme one Sunday a year. $1 per member. Mobilize for legislative action. Contact Chris at chris.27@comcast.net
Education and Communications: Spreading the word about debt cancellation. Giving talks, tabling at events, attending house parties, speaking on panels, developing informational material. Book Club. Film Festival. We also promote our work with web site updates, blogs, flyers, postcards and all types of media work! Please contact jubileeoregon@gmail.com
General membership: Meet monthly to discuss work of committees, provide support, network with area groups such as Bread for the World, Portland Area Global AIDS Coalition and others. All are welcome! We meet the second Sunday of each month from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, NE 16th and Hancock Sts.the Rose City Park Presbyterian Church, NE 45th and Sandy.
